Grand Terroir Tautavel red wine
AOP COTES DU ROUSSILLON VILLAGES TAUTAVEL
Winemaker's note
Driven by a passion for the Mediterranean art of living and owner of leading estates in the South of France, Gérard Bertrand reveals the unique expression of the "Grands Terroirs" of this region.
The village of Tautavel is ideally located in Roussillon between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean. The region of Tautavel is rich in history, it is one of the cradles of Humanity.
Winegrower's note
The work begins in the vineyard with a selection of the most suitable plots of land to produce this type of wine. The grapes are mostly harvested by hand. A double system of sorting is carried out in the vineyard and in the cellar.
The vinification is traditional, and the grapes are destemmed before the maceration phase, which lasts between 3 and 4 weeks. The grapes are pressed and then undergo a malolactic fermentation. A third of the wine is aged for 9 months in barrels, the rest being kept in vats.

A beautiful attack on the palate with supple tannins and notes of garrigue and spices.
